When should I put winter tires on in Alberta?
Switch once daytime temperatures consistently sit at 7°C or below — usually early-to-mid October in the Edmonton area. Winter tires use a softer compound that stays flexible in the cold for shorter stopping distances on snow and ice. Booking before the first snowfall avoids the seasonal rush.
Are winter tires mandatory in Alberta?
They’re not legally required in Alberta, but they’re strongly recommended and can earn you an insurance discount with some providers. In cold and snow they clearly out-brake and out-grip all-season tires.
How does the price-match guarantee work?
Find a lower advertised price on the same brand and same tire size, bring us a physical quote, and we’ll beat it by 5%. It applies once per customer and doesn’t apply to quotes from other Go Auto dealers. Full terms are below.
Do I need four winter tires or just two?
We recommend four matching winter tires. Running two winter and two all-season tires creates uneven grip front-to-rear, which makes the vehicle unpredictable when braking or cornering on ice.
Can you store my tires between seasons?
Yes. Your off-season set is cleaned, inspected for wear and kept climate-controlled, and we swap them over at drop-off or pick-up.
